Karen Church lives in Glenwood Springs, Colorado where she has a private practice in physical therapy, blending the principles of yoga into her extensive knowledge of human anatomy. She is a teacher, photographer and author of Therapeutic Yoga.

Karen Church was born in Canada and graduated from the University of Toronto in 1989 with a B.Sc. in Physiotherapy. She also holds a B.A. in Physical and Health Education with a minor in Sport Psychology from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. She studied Human Movement in 1985 at Carnegie College in Leeds, England.

Karen has extensive post-graduate training in Functional Manual Therapy and is a candidate for CFMT (Certified Functional Manual Therapy) in 2013 from the Institute of Art, Steamboat Springs, CO. Her interests in alignment and muscle balance led to studying yoga with numerous senior Iyengar teachers in 1993, and she became an Affiliated Anusara Instructor in 2004. Karen has studied yoga with Desirée Rumbaugh since 2003 and looks forward to collaboration in yoga therapy trainings with Desirée in 2013.
